Salina is an artist, designer, writer, and community builder.

In painting and ceramics, Salina is always translating a thought or a feeling. She allows herself to react to art as it evolves – never holding too tight to an outcome. Her work is expressive and transcendent.

As a writer (and reader), Salina is drawn to the conflicting emotions that make us human. She works in creative nonfiction, primarily writing brave and raw personal essays. Her essay was recently long listed for the CBC Non-Fiction Prize.

Open Closely is personal project created to help us all embrace the messy in self-reflection and feel more connected to others. Users get the chance to publicly and anonymously respond to a journal prompt every full moon, based on the themes of that lunation.

With a strategy first approach, Salina designs by uncovering the most important story. She creates brands and websites with an intelligent minimalism that creates space and ease.
